The history of the faculty of biotechnology and food Sciences stems from the achievements and traditions of the Department of agricultural technologies of the agro-industrial faculty of the Lviv Polytechnic University, located in Dublany. In 1946 at the Agricultural Faculty of the University and Polytechnic of Wroclaw University was established Department of Technology, Agriculture and processing of Fruit and Vegetables, which in 1970 joined the Institute of Technology, agro-Food, and since 1972 – Office, converted in 1973 to the Department of Food Technology, and in 1977 – the Faculty of Food Technology. In 2001, the Faculty was renamed the Faculty of food Sciences. The youngest of the faculties of the University occupies today-thanks to the staff of outstanding specialists-the most important scientific position.
