The faculty of Forestry in Warsaw alludes by its traditions to the Special school of Forestry, established in 1816. It was the first on Polish lands – one of the first in the world – forest University as an academic.

The faculty of Forestry in Warsaw alludes by its traditions to the Special school of Forestry, established in 1816. It was the first on Polish lands – one of the first in the world – forest University as an academic. In 1831, the Tsar's invader closed the school. In 1840, a Branch of the Forest Institute of Agriculture and Forestry was established in Marymont, which was transferred in 1869 to pulavy. In 1916, Higher Forest Courses were established in Warsaw, Accompanied by Scientific Courses. In 1919, due to the transformation of The society of Scientific Courses in the Wise-Poland Main school of Agriculture (1918), which was then renamed the School of Main Agriculture, Higher Forest Courses become the Faculty of Forestry. In accordance with the decree of the Ministry of Agriculture and Public Goods from July 15, 1919, SGGW took over the management of the forest in Skernevitsy. Then, by a resolution of the Council of Ministers of February 1, 1955, the forests under the management of the ECONOMY were transferred from the Ministry of Forestry to the Ministry of Higher Education for the purposes of scientific and methodological research of the Main school of Agriculture. They were renamed first to "experimental Forests of the Main school of Agriculture", and then (the decree of the Ministers of Education and Finance of February 12, 1960) to the Forest Experimental Plant in Rogov. The direction "forestry" has a positive assessment of the State accreditation Commission received in 2008. Within the framework of training in the direction of "spatial Economics" (academic year 2012/2013), the following courses are offered: 3.5-year study of the first degree (bachelor) in a stationary mode, 4-year-old graduate of the first degree (engineering) in non-stationary mode, 1.5-year study of the second degree (master's degree) in a stationary mode, 2-year bachelor's degree of the second degree (master's) in non-stationary mode. The direction "spatial economy" has a positive assessment of the Polish accreditation Commission received in 2012. The faculty also leads: 4-year doctorate in stationary and non-stationary mode postgraduate study: "Application of Spatial Information Systems in Forestry and Nature Protection” "Sustainable use of forest territories in regional development” "Supervision and improvement of private forests” Employees also conduct classes for students of other faculties of ECONOMY. The faculty of Warsaw has the right to confer the degree of doctor and doctoral student in the field of forest Sciences, the discipline of forestry, as well as the scientific title of Professor of forest Sciences.
