Youth Scientific Parliament

The Scientific Parliament is an activity aimed at promoting debate and reflection among students on current scientific issues

alt

The Scientific Parliament is an activity aimed at promoting debate and reflection on scientific topics of current interest among the students, at the same time that the young participants experience and learn closely about how decisions are made in democracy.

The Scientific Parliament model establishes dialogue not only between young people, but also between them and the people who are currently conducting research. This experience is enriching not only for the students, but also for the participating scientists, who have the possibility of learning closely about the opinions and attitudes of the students towards the research fields in which they work.

The idea

At least 60 young people between the ages of 16 and 19 meet for three days to discuss controversial science and research issues in committees. The resolutions adopted in the committees are then debated in Parliament where the final resolution is drafted.
