Faculty of Animal Breeding and Biology
At present, the Faculty of Animal Breeding and Biology, being one of the 8 Faculties of the University of Agriculture in Krakow, is a thriving scientific and didactic unit known in the country.

At present, the Faculty of Animal Breeding and Biology, being one of the 8 Faculties of the University of Agriculture in Krakow, is a thriving scientific and didactic unit known in the country. At present, 86 academic teachers are employed in 2 Institutes (6 departments) and 5 Departments operating at the Faculty, including 14 full professors, 28 habilitated doctors and 42 research and teaching staff with a doctoral degree and 2 with a master's degree. The appropriate quality of academic education of students, in addition to the professional staff of academic teachers, is guaranteed by a rich and interesting didactic offer. Pursuant to the recommendation of the "Bologna Charter", a three-level education system, including engineering, master's and doctoral studies, is implemented here. Studies are conducted in the following fields:

The Faculty's specificity are the Experimental Stations operating at most Chairs, in which various species of farm animals are kept. These stations provide the opportunity to conduct scientific research, as well as didactic activities and student internships. At Experimental Stations, animals of native breeds are also kept, such as: Polish horses, Hucul horses, Zator geese, partridge green hens, high-oxygen Olkusz sheep and standard nutria - covered by the program for the protection of animal genetic resources in Poland.
